Job Description: Stage Manager

We are seeking a stage manager with experience in devised theatre to act as a key player during rehearsals and performances in St. Catharines.They will work closely with the director and creator and communicate appropriately and well with the production team. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, efficient work habits, a calm and helpful manner under pressure, strong problem solving skills, and an excellent sense of time and humour. A connection to the subject matter of the production is strongly recommended.

About the show:

Blood Lightning is an original, physical, and autobiographical devised piece created between Guatemalan-Canadian artist Joseph Recinos and Colin Bruce Anthes. Sitting in between performance and ritual, Blood Lighting is an artistic offering that honours ancestry and spirit. Niagara-raised performer Joseph Recinos guides us through the complex terrain of being from two places at once. Through the use of traditional storytelling, hip-hop, movement, song and poetry and travelling from Niagara to Guatemala to Standing Rock, this one-person show chronicles the true story of one artist’s reclaiming of their ancestral voice.
