
Our company's first show was originally intended for the Toronto Fringe but when our number didn't come up at the Fringe lottery we decided to put the show up anyway. Scenic View opened in Toronto in late August of '98 at the Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhousewe then took the show to the Peterburough Fringe, the Montreal Fringe, finally arriving in St. Catharines for a limited run at the Vagabond Performance space on Bond Street.
The story follows Paul and Louise, two diametrically opposed actors who are paired together in an eight week scene study class for the express purpose of tackling a scene from Clifford Odet's Golden Boy. A romantic comedy that Ray Conologue of the Globe called "an intense and absorbing 60 minutes"
