Tackling the issue of homosexuality and religion, Playwright, Stephanie Jones notes that "...everyone has a different opinion of what is to “be done” about an individuals sexuality, especially when it comes to homosexuality. Even within the separate identifiable communities, there was never a clear voice, and people got... nervous...I wanted to explore those nerves because, “Me thinks the folks protest too much”. But then,I wanted this story to reflect and celebrate us, as much as explain and question us, “Us” also meant me - raised Catholic in Welland and then raising my own girls much the same way in Fonthill, my objective was to give each character both a clear voice and a struggle, and to have you, the audience identify with their specific plights."
